Privacy Policy
ZipSentry checks shipping addresses at your Shopify checkout. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we never store the addresses your customers enter.
What we collect
- Store details: your Shopify store domain and the offline access token Shopify issues when you install, so we can read your orders and manage your checkout validation.
- Rule settings: the rules you turn on, their Off, Flag, or Block mode, country scopes, and the messages you write.
- Catch counts: block, flag, and self-fix events, which rule fired and when, so your dashboard can total them. These events do not include your customers' names, addresses, phone numbers, or emails.
- Account settings: your plan and the contact email you use for support.
How we use it
We use this data only to run the service: validating addresses at checkout, tagging and re-checking flagged orders, and totaling results on your ROI dashboard. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Where validation happens
Block rules run inside the Shopify checkout as a compiled function with no network calls, so blocked addresses never reach our servers at all. Flag and self-fix checks run from Shopify order webhooks and record only the event, not the address.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the services needed to operate ZipSentry: Shopify, where your store and orders live, and our hosting provider. Each receives only what it needs. We do not share your data with anyone else.
Retention and deletion
We keep your rule settings and event counts while the app is installed so your dashboard and history work. When you uninstall, we clear your store credentials. When Shopify sends a data-erasure request on your behalf, we redact the associated records. You can also email us to request deletion at any time.
