Address validation for Shopify checkout
ZipSentry checks every address that comes through your checkout. Obvious mistakes get blocked before the order even exists. Borderline ones go through, tagged, so you can take a look before shipping. And most typos? Customers end up fixing those themselves.
Add a house number so the courier can deliver. Example: Hauptstrasse 12
Without the number this parcel comes back, and you pay the shipping both ways.
Nine seconds later: "Hauptstrasse 12". Order placed.
01 / The switch
You decide, rule by rule and country by country, what stops a customer and what just gets a second look.
Does nothing. The rule sits there until you need it.
The sale goes through, but the order gets tagged with the rule that caught it, like zipsentry:po_box, so someone looks at it before it ships. Shopify Flow can pick the tag up too.
Checkout stops until the customer fixes the field. They see your message, right on the field with the problem. This runs inside the Shopify checkout itself, so there is no extra network call and no lag.
02 / The catalog
Each one has its own mode, country scope, and message in the language your buyer reads.
03 / The loop
When an order gets flagged, it carries a tag naming the problem. The moment the address is corrected, by the customer or by you, ZipSentry re-checks the order and the tag comes off by itself. No support back-and-forth, and nothing ships undeliverable.
Blocked, flagged, self-fixed: all counted from real orders and checkout events, and priced using your own cost per failed delivery.
The order is tagged with the rule that caught it. The sale still goes through.
The customer fixes the address on the order-status page, or you edit the order.
ZipSentry re-checks, the tag comes off, and it is logged as fixed.

05 / Questions
No. Block rules run inside the Shopify checkout as a compiled function. There are no network calls, so your customers never wait on our servers.
Only if you tell it to. Rules set to Block are the only thing that can stop a checkout, and they show your own message so the customer knows exactly what to fix. Flag mode never blocks anything, it just tags the order and lets it through.
The order gets a tag naming the rule that caught it, like zipsentry:po_box. You can filter on the tags, check the order before shipping, or wire them into Shopify Flow. Once the address is fixed, the tags come off.
No. Blocking happens inside the Shopify checkout, and our servers store your rule settings and anonymous catch counts, never customer addresses. GDPR requests and redaction are handled automatically.
All of them. Postal code and phone formats adjust to the destination country on their own, and any rule can be limited to specific countries. There are ready-made presets for Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK and Japan.
Through Shopify billing. One flat USD 7.99 a month after a 3-day free trial. Uninstall the app and the subscription ends. There is no separate account to cancel.
